Waves were compared to cannonballs. The surf was driven by Hurricane Marie. It triggered beach erosion and damage to Southern California homes. Crews are now working to stop more erosion and repair the shoreline.
In a separate development, Taste of Laguna has been canceled. The event was dropped due to an ongoing feud, unpaid taxes, and a liquor license issue at the Festival of Arts.
