Jacob Coxon, the alignment lead at Anthropic, has stepped down. He issued a warning that artificial intelligence poses serious risks.
Coxon stated there is more than a 10 percent chance that AI could kill all humans by the next decade. He characterised ongoing AI development as a gamble involving human lives.
Coxon described the technology out of control. His departure has attracted notice. The resignation comes after his warnings about serious AI risks.
Evan Hubinger, also a colleague at Anthropic, has likewise been noted.
