Pete Hegseth fired a top four-star general who was advised to drop an inside inquiry concerning a Kid Rock Apache helicopter stunt. Hegseth also presented upgraded military awards to Marines and other service members who fought during the 2021 Abbey Gate attack in Afghanistan.
The Pentagon stated that Hegseth's official probe into the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan exposed hidden files. In addition to the military probe findings, Hegseth stood firm by the LaNeve nomination despite reported hesitation expressed by federal lawmakers.
