Stargazers can now spot the first Perseid meteors ahead of the primary display. The light show peaks in middle of August next year. Early sightings will be tough, however. The glowing moon now washes out faint streaks. Head into darker hours near the high point. The best views come from dark sky spots away from cities. Clear nights could show up to a hundred meteors hourly at the height of activity.
