Essendon defender Jordan Ridley has been signed by Geelong, with the deal completed on 7 October 2026. The trade sends utility Jack Bowes to Essendon along with four draft picks.
Ridley had been long rumoured for the Cats after Essendon placed a firm price on the defender. Essendon were holding out for significant return throughout the trade period.
The completed swap gives Geelong an seasoned backline option while Essendon receives Bowes and additional selections. Bowes is a versatile utility who adds depth to the Essendon list heading into the pre-season period.
