Highway 3 is shut from Hope to Manning Park, disrupting local traffic. Wildfire activity made both lanes impassable, halting travel. Travellers now exclusively use the Coquihalla Highway, avoiding the closure. The fire near Hope flames northeast of the Coquihalla interchange, releasing thick smoke. Smoke is heavy and readily to see, lowering visibility. A second blaze ignited south of Boston Bar on Tuesday. This second fire covers 300 hectares. It prompted officials to close Highway 1 in the same area. Two key routes into southern BC are now closed.
